Just updated and noticed some things on the right of the status bar that
may have been there in prior versions, but I didn't notice before, like
the "Signed by Let's Encrypt" icon and the zoom controls.

I followed that link. It has two further links, to the Release Notes
and to the Download pages. Both claim to be for 2.53.9 but are
*actually* for 2.53.7 - the html is <a href="2.53.7 stuff">2.53.9 stuff</a>.
oops!

Good catch! They should be:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/2.53.9 and
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.53.9/. Hopefully,
Edmund will fix them soon. My comments still need to be reviewed to post. :(

All of the audio streaming sites and site graphics that were broken for
me in the previous release are still broken...
Possibility 1: Inadequate Seamonkey functionality.
Possibility 2: The sites browser-sniff and don't like Seamonkey.

Do you have an example? Some of the people who frequent these sites are
good at detecting Possibility 2.
Another approach is about:config and then flip
general.useragent.compatMode.strict-firefox to tell sites you are using
an older version of Firefox.

Any iHeart radio site/station is the most prominent as far as audio
streaming goes - none of them now work under SM. As for graphics, no
Tumbler site will load Archive graphics now. I've tried spoofing User
Agents with SM and that has no effect. This has been going on since SM
2.53.8.1.

Also noted this morning that my Benchmark Sims forum site is only
partially working. I can switch browsers to Chromium and all of the
above work properly.

Tried your above suggestion for setting about:config - makes no difference.

Also - I'm using the Mac version of SM, haven't checked my Win installs
to see if I see the same there or not.

Each time I installed a new release of Seamonkey, some functions
were removed. Is that any list with the features I would lose
by changing my current version (except security...).
Denis
That question should probably be asked in the new Seamonkey Support
group, alt.comp.software.seamonkey

I'm not a real 'Power' user of SeaMonkey .... and I'd be interested in
knowing which features of 'old' SeaMonkey that Denis is missing.

But, yeah, a.c.s.seamonkey is probably the better place to post this
question although this n.p.m.seamonkey group (which is also on UseNet)
is a reasonable place to post the question.

Da people with da answers mostly frequent the other group, leaving this
one to the Kasachstan contingent.
Test.

One example is the possibility of saving an HTML file with the
entities i.e. &eacute; instead of é.

ctrl-F was previously working to find or replace a string. It is back
but for a while, it was no more available and only the menu could do
the search.

I think I've only ever needed to save a web-page as it appeared at that
particular time once, a long time ago (was it Moz Suite or was it
Netscape??) so hadn't noticed the change.

I think I generally use the drop-down so wouldn't have noticed the
difference.
